I purchased the car around 18 months ago from another imp club member. The car is well-known within imp circles, and being a spring special boasts several unique and rare features e. g., north american spec front and rear bumpers etc. The car still wears much of its 50 year old bronze metallic paint on all original panels. The underside has been waxoyled religiously and shows no sign of deterioration or previous weld repairs.
always garaged under my tenure, there were some things however that needed tidying. After running the car for around a thousand miles i decided to pick away at a few of these minor ailments over the course of this winter. The driver seat had started to show its age so i stripped the full interior out the car in september and delivered it to a gentleman in west bromwich where it is currently being professionally retrimmed. I hope to take delivery in the next few weeks.
the gearbox was rebuilt by dave weedon around 5000 miles ago, it was stripped, cleaned and vapour blasted with all new bearings fitted. A new clutch and couplings etc. Were fitted by the previous owner at the time. It has a 930 cc (re-bored 875cc block); b1 pistons; Mildly ported 180 sport cylinder head; Lightened and balanced crank/ flywheel; Sport exhaust, oil cooler, spax suspension and has an electric fuel pump fitted.
the car is presently sitting on 12” cosmic alloys but i do have a set of recently refurbished 13” minilite sport wheels that will be sold separately.
