We are delighted to have in stock this superb 1988 Austin Metro 1. 0 City X in Lipari Blue.
It would appear to have been originally supplied by Station Garage in Leyland (Lancs.) and still bears its number plates from the Austin Rover dealer. It has had just 6 owners in total, the most recent of which being a company that supplies cars for TV & film use. They have owned it for about the last 5 years; you might well have seen it on TV in various shows.
The City X is fairly basic as you'd expect but includes rear seat belts, digital clock, rear ashtrays, rear wiper. It does not appear to have ever had a stereo or aerial fitted and all windows and headlights are security etched with the registration number. It is very solid and original although is believed to have had a repaint a few years ago, done to a very high standard.
It is MOT'd to March 2023 and our preparation has so far included obtaining a second key, sorting out a faulty fuel gauge, replacing the tailgate struts and sourcing some metric tyre's that are in better condition than the ones it came in on.
Overall this Metro is a delightful car that has covered just 1000 miles for each year of its 34 years and is very enjoyable to drive. The public loves it (it takes us back to a simpler, nicer time) and people always want to stop and admire it.
