We are honoured to present this Iconic 1968 Shelby Gt500 (7L V8) Fastback.
Since the car was professionally restored some years ago, we are happy to say the car is in stunning condition overall, optically as well as technically.
The SHELBY GT500 is a factory off tuned sports car where no part of the original car was left untouched, hood, trunk, and most body parts all around were replaced with fiberglass components to save weight. This purebred sports car was equipped with a built-in roll cage.
Our SHELBY GT500 is originally equipped with the famous 428-engine known as "COBRA JET" (435HP/ 325KW). Next to that, this Shelby sports the famous Le Mans version of this Cobra Jet engine. We are talking real performance with a brutal sound.
Far ahead of its time, this car also got servo steering, power brakes (discs at the front, drums at the back). Tilt away steering wheel, air conditioning, AM radio and tinted glass all around. The original rims are mounted on wheel lip mounts and are wrapped Bridgestone Potenza rubber.
The completely original, perfectly preserved black interior contrasts nicely with the "candy apple red” exterior which was finished with the typical GT500 stripping & COBRA logo.
In short, the SHELBY GT500 is an icon, a dream car that speaks to the imagination of car enthusiasts worldwide. The value evolution has been on the rise for many years and since correct specimens are becoming rare this is a sound investment. A recent independent appraisal report can be reviewed on request.
