Technically, the big hudson novelty for 1948, the so-called "step-down" chassis, was a precursor to the self-supporting body, where the body and chassis frame fused together. The result was a cart that was just longer, lower and smarter than all the others. The fast hornet model was introduced in 1951 with an enlarged 6-cylinder engine, which was the most powerful six on the market. This hornet has so-called twin h-power, a rare dealer-fitted accessory which consists of a double manifold plus double carburetors. With the twin h-power, the power increased to 160 hp, and with a 0-100 time of 12. 1 seconds and a top speed of over 170 km / h, there was a serious bang for the buck. With its round streamlined shapes and jens lyn-like chrome trim, this hudson is simply the epitome of a bold and unusual american car from the early 1950s.
