This is a fantastic project; a rare 190E 2. 6 with 107k miles, full service history and factory leather trim in immaculate condition.
Built in 1993 this is one of the last of the W201 190Es. It is the rare and desirable 2. 6 version with the super-smooth 160bhp 2. 6-litre straight-six. It also has some great options including leather interior, electric front seats, outside temperature indicator, Sportline steering wheel, electric sunroof and windows, automatic transmission and alloy wheels.
The exterior is finished in Smoke Silver metallic, but it’s the interior that really wows as it is upholstered in super-rare ‘Dattel’ (light brown/ tan) leather.
This 190 was ordered new in Germany to right-hand drive specification by a UK customer. Within the year it was registered back in the UK.

Full service history – 21 stamps in the service book. All books and manuals and a folder of receipts and paperwork. Two keys. HPI clear.
The body is very tidy as the pictures show with just an area of lacquer peel on the boot lid and a few small bubbles on the nearside front wing.
The interior is really the highlight. It is in immaculate condition. The leather is original, without wear and beautifully supple. The woodwork is excellent along with the carpets that are still protected by the original ribbed over mats. It is rare to find a W201 leather interior this nice.
The engine appears to be good and runs smoothly with no smoke or mechanical noise. Similarly the transmission engages well.
Repairs are required to the jacking points and rear inner wheel arches. The nearside front coil spring is broken, hence the low ride height at the front. As the car has been off the road for a couple of years we would recommend a service and a refresh of the suspension and brakes.
This is a great car to restore; not only is it 2. 6 with that amazing interior, it also has sensible miles and a complete service history.
