History File - Our 1954 Chevy Pick-Up is a fully restored ex-Canadian example. Photographic documentation below illustrate the extension of the restoration which has clearly been carried out without compromise. Imported to Germany by a well-known marque specialist and enthusiast in early 2022 the car was fully inspected for Historical German registration status which it passed with zero advisories and is now valid until January 2024. The car is now ready to be enjoyed and potentially displayed as the car easily warrants “show” status.
Exterior - Finished in solid black it’s an astonishing, even gloss finish and contrasts superbly well against a frightening abundance of chrome. Granted, such a black finish can be a little sensitive to scratching, but it really does suit the model, so it’s surely worth the effort. Classic chrome front that appears almost monster like when opened, it will take some cleaning by the new owner, but we’re certain it will be worth it. The rear pick-up section is wonderfully detailed with highly varnished wood and complimentary raised chrome luggage strips. A quick glance underneath reveals a ridiculous level of detailing which is praiseworthy of this “frame-off nut & bolt” restoration. It’s a real head-turner that will make you smile and makes a cracking sound too.
Interior - An uncompromising finish in black pvc bench seat coverings and painted dashboard with a period integrated radio. A new roof lining has been fitted along with all new rubber fitted floor mats. Beneath the passenger side the hidden battery box has a new on/ off switch for longer periods when not in use.
Engine & Transmission - This is a 2 wheel drive unit with 6 cylinder 3388cc displacement and 3 speed manual gearbox. A quick orientation to find first gear on the steering column change, push pedal start on the cabin floor (very close to the accelerator) and you’re away! The * 1539 miles showing on the odometer is as indicated and clearly considerably more.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes - Only proper 5 ½ cm whitewall tyres would be appropriate for this stunning Chevrolet Pick-Up and here we have no exception. Coker Classic 195/ 75 R15 M&S tyres are new and are accompanied with highly chromed hubcaps with dark blue Chevy decals.
