Description
HERE is a really rare 1947 early Riley RMB, the the sought after 2. 5 twin cam engine. V5 states just seven previous owners from new and she is on the button and drives through her gears. Brakes need going through. She is a pretty enough example and note that sleek design. The bonnet is six inches longer than the sister car, the more common RMA and RME versions which were 1500cc.
Interior is pretty good too with a very early style dash and leather satchels attached to the rear of the front seats. Her paintwork, although eye catching from a few paces, could do with a re-spray although this is very much reflected in the asking price of a pre-1950 RMB 2. 5! She is showing next to nothing in the way of rot on her panels, it is purely down to defective paintwork. Even the front doors shut really well which is unusual on these RMs and they normally tend to stick out at the bottom front corner.
A rare opportunity to acquire a highly sought after model for less than 9k.
My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 75-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply. Please bear all this in mind, and enjoy your classic car. I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote. Thanks, Martin. the details below.
