For sale is my low mileage Citroen Saxo 1. 6 VTR Mk1 in metallic Poseidon Blue, this is the one to have if you're a Gavin & Stacey fan! Sadly I have come to realise that I have too many cars so this one has to go, but only to somebody who's going to look after her properly.
She was registered on 1st Aug 1998 by 'Ratcliffe Bros' of Rochdale to a Mrs Pearson of Todmorden who used the car sparingly hence the very low mileage. I recently spoke to a garage owner who used to work on the car and he even remembered the registration number! It is in very original factory spec even down to the Grundig radio cassette.
The service history has nine stamps in it but I've also managed to track down a further two services which I have emails confirming although they aren't recorded in the book. There are all the tax discs from 2000-2015 and the original tax disc holder. There's a copy of the HPI report when I bought it and also the dealer brochure with all the car's features. All the handbooks and book pack are in the glovebox.
While in my ownership, I have had a full service and the cam belt has been replaced. I have replaced the number plates with copies of the originals and also had a rear window sticker made to match the tax disc holder to give it a real authentic look.
Whist original, it is not without faults. It has had some welding, as have many of these. The alloy wheels would benefit from a refurb and the car could do with a machine polish. The body kit could fit better in places but this is a budget French car and the fact it still looks this good after 24 years shows how well it has been cared for.
All in all, a very useable appreciating classic that gets admiration wherever it goes.
