A very reluctant sale of my 427 Cobra replica, being built to an exemplary standard. The Cobra was built in 1989 having been supplied by the founders of AK Sports Cars in Peterborough.
AK Sports Cars was founded by a number of those who created the SCS Cobra, prior to the birth of AK, with only a very limited number being produced, matching to the famous 427 in all proportions.
The 427 was built in 1989 by a design engineer who took immense care to craft a purely beautiful replica using the very best platform available at the time, with BRA being one of the only other replica provider with similar build quality.
The result is a stunning Cobra replica built by the founders of the renowned AK Sports Car.
The build specification includes:
* AK Sports inspired shell, of excellent quality & structure
* Southern Roadcraft Chassis, fully wax oiled.
* Rover V8 3946cc aluminum engine with Weber 500 4 Chock Carbs on a TWR Dual Plane inlet, electronic ignition with Carter fuel pump, Cobra filter box & dual fans.
* Full Jaguar / Daimler running gear with SPAX adjustable coil over shock (4 on rear), servo brakes & discs.
* 4 Speed Rover Gear box meshed to a Salisbury differential with shortened drive shafts
The interior boast the same care and attention, with Steel Framed Richfield Cobra seats and chrome fixed seatbelts, 13” Cobra style wood rim steering wheel, full Smiths gauges, anticlockwise speedo, toggle switches, push button start, Cobra gearstick and correct cobra door catches.
To finish the superior interior is an original Brassworks windscreen with wind wings & visors.
Externally, chrome work is in excellent condition with front & rear bars, over riders, fuel cap and single role bar to match the original 427 Specification. Finished in Wimbledon White with correct Cobra badges, grills, stone guards, and P700 headlights.
Revolution 5 spoke wheels laced with Copper Cobra tyres complete the external presentation of the car.
Overall the car is beautifully presented, with an excellent pedigree boasting a classic platina with an exquisite roar from the twin underfloor exhausts.
The Cobra drives as would expect, with everything working correctly, being in very good condition. The Cobra has been meticulously maintained having only 2 previous owners, one of those being the builder. Paintwork is original, and has a few marks from obvious use to include a visit to the Nurburg ring, and tours around France with the second owner.
The car also comes complete with full weather gear, which is a costly extra for most. Weather gear includes soft top, side screens and full tonneau.

ACC89IA, I will be very sad to see her go. A massive file of the build comes with the car, to include a full wiring diagram on tracing paper drawn by the original owner.
Unfortunately there is a genuine reason for sale and being bias you will find it very hard to find another replica built to the same standards.
