1932 Austin Seven RN Saloon Manual. . Black / Maroon with red upholstery. The car was purchased in 2018 by the present owner as a result of the downsizing of a private museum collection in Cheshire, where the car hardly moved for about nine years. Since that time a major mechanical recommissioning has been undertaken by professional specialists, which has included the complete rebuilding of the engine, gearbox, dynamo and carburettor. In addition the brakes and steering have been overhauled with many new components fitted as necessary. The rear axle has been overhauled, half shaft replaced, new axle keys fitted and the hubs ground tightly onto the stub axles. A new membrane has been fitted into the fuel pump and a new battery fitted. The wheels have been reconditioned and had their centres replaced. New radiator hoses and fan belt have been fitted. The fuel tank has been fitted with a new dual petrol tap. The ignition system has been fitted with a new coil, spark plugs, condenser and contact breaker points. The original cable brakes have been uprated by the inclusion of an approved Morris hydraulic braking modification. The suspension has been improved by the addition of an approved independent suspension modification to the front axle. The car benefits from red upholstered seats, a good headlining and a floor covered in soundproofing and a red carpet. The chassis is solid and very strong, the bodywork is sound and the paintwork is exceptional considering it is 90 years old after all. This is a very attractive and reliable driveable car with lots of history and interesting improvements. The car comes with some spare parts, a file of history containing bills and invoices containing all expenditure carried out by the present owner and a selection of user manuals, and parts catalogues as well as pictures of engine rebuild. The A7 headlights are new replicas, with modern motorbike inserts (very powerful beams). Battery is new and the car starts quickly on the electric starter plus choke. The registration number is fully transferable and valued at £1000 although we firmly believe it should stay with the car.
