Beschreibung
This little screamer with its 38x43 mm “longstroke” engine was the ancestor for later 125 cc twin models with a 43x43 bore&stroke and for later 180 cc twin models with regard to the vertical split engine. The engine’s smooth-running is attributed to the longstroke layout.

• Rebuilt engine, new pistons & rings, first oversize
• Restored in 2001 to original specification

The pressed steel backbone chassis is completely intact and rustfree, no mending at all was required. This is not that obvious because the backbone rear end with integrated mudguard is very sensitive to rust caused by seams and cavities keeping dirt and damp.
The handlebar switchgear is original and is working as it should, as is the tachometer. The throttle handle is unique and rare, having an internal spiral which moves a pin in the handlebar that is attached to the throttle cable.
The seat base is also intact and rustfree and is still fitted with the original cover. The closed chainguard on the swingarm is a characteristic feature and is in a good condition
Summary:
A well-executed restoration of this characteristic lightweight from the sixties. The bike runs, rides and sounds as it should with no issues to report.
The YL-1 benefits from an engine rebuild, new chrome work and many original features, such as the wheels, exhaust and throttle handle, which are virtually unobtainable should you need to replace them.
The seller will support the buyer with the paperwork and the transport. You are always welcome to come and see the bike at home in The Netherlands.
