Purchased in 1988 and kept until recently, the fourth owner of this pretty Morris Cooper had it restored by Mini specialists in 2009 and has used it sparingly since, covering about a thousand miles in the last thirteen years. There are a lot of photographs of the Mini in build, including of the engine and gearbox which were rebuilt at the same time.
An RC40 exhaust is fitted as are Cooper S wheels, Cooper S twin petrol tanks and the Newton Commercial interior has adjustable front seats.
The bodywork remains in excellent order and the underside shows no evidence of rust. The headlining is perfectly acceptable whilst the rest of the interior has been renewed and is virtually unmarked.
The standard 998cc engine is in standard runs sweetly. It has covered little mileage since being overhauled and pulls well. The steering and brakes are as expected in the wonderful machines.
A history file which includes MOTS and invoices from the early '80s, also has the photographs of the rebuild, a Bill of Sale for £1, 000 from March 1988 and numerous old MOT certificates, and an original Mini Driver's Handbook.
