An immaculate, untouched, original BMW E30 that has just 30k miles from new and two owners.
The E30 Three-Series in many ways defined the compact ‘executive’ car of the 80s. Sharp styling clothed a car that was both fun to drive and high quality. It is little surprise that they have become sought after classics.
This Sterling Silver 316i was registered on August 1st 1990 by Altwood BMW of Slough. We can thank its first owner, a Mrs Manik, almost entirely for the cars survival in such beautifully preserved condition as it was her pride and joy. Always garaged from new, she used to towel the car down if ever caught in rain before returning it to the garage. The seats were protected by lambswool covers and the factory over mats by additional rubber mats.
She owned the car until 2018 and covered just 29k miles. The BMW’s second owner, from 2018 to date, is a BMW enthusiast and BMW club member who appreciated what a superb example this is. Like Mrs Manik, he has always garaged the car, kept it immaculate and used it sparingly, taking the mileage today to just 30, 909 miles.
The book pack is complete and in perfect condition. The service book records ten services, the last carried out in August 2021 at 30, 263 miles. In 2018 (at 29, 059 miles), soon after buying the car, the second owner carried out a major service changing all the fluids and filters including the gearbox and differential, plus the all-important cam-belt. New tyres were also fitted then as it was still wearing the originals!
There is a folder full of receipts, clear HPI certificate, and all the spare keys on the original dealer key ring.
As the photographs hopefully show, this BMW is in absolutely incredible, original condition. The bodywork and underside are superb wearing its original paintwork, the interior is, quite frankly, like new, and in the engine bay all the zinc-plated parts still retain their bright finish. It really is a time capsule car; it even still wears its original dealer registration plates.
Needless to say, it drives faultlessly with the crispness and tightness only found on well-maintained low-mileage cars.
In summary, it would be nigh on impossible to find a more original, perfectly preserved BMW E30.
