HERE is my 1982 Mini van. She is a little gem, and still sports her proper spec basic metal radiator grille, sliding windows, build in door pockets etc.
Without a doubt, she has had a great deal of love and care lavished on her over the years and, in particular, for the past four years. A brief look around her reveals replacement sills (proper Mini panels) and probably floors too although perhaps they have just survived. Her load bay is in excellent order and the ply boarding lifts up just behind the seats to reveal the back rest for a rear seat. The base lives in the load bay and is separate.
Just mentioning a small amount of work done during the last four years: new brake master, gear selector rod, brake discs and pads, head gasket, manifold gasket, rocker c (over gasket, valve stem oil seals, water pump, track rod ends, stone chip paint to arches and sills. When the previous owner acquired her in February 2018, the van had covered just 54, 000 miles. Today the speedo reads 77, 000 proving what a valuable and enjoyable vehicle this little van has been and how well it has been both appreciated and used.
She also has a brake servo fitted, and on the road she is a joy to drive.
The seats have obviously been recovered and they are in superb order.
As ever my prices are among the best available in the UK when it comes to classic vehicles. There are quite a few Mini vans out there at £18k-plus whereas mine is around half that price. Bad bits? All in all, extremely sound and with an excellent MoT history which you can check on the DVLA database. She has a current MoT until February 2023. Apart from a few minor cosmetic bits here and there, the front end of the guttering is probably the worst bit. It's a bit frilly on the metal but could very easily be rectified by anyone with the requisite skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a delightful Mini van with a current MoT (no longer required after this year). She feels fresh and sprightly and is a real head turner. My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 40-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply.
