A superb and tastefully upgraded example of the MG TD, with an interesting history. This car has been restored in recent years to an excellent standard and everything about it is in really, really good condition. The bodywork is excellent with really good paint finish and only one or two very minor blemishes. The wings, bonnet, doors, and opening windscreen all fit well and as you can see, it even sports Brooklands aero screens. The chrome work is like new. Mechanically, the car is first class and drives very well indeed. Upgrades, which make it much more desirable in today’s traffic, and indeed, give a good turn of performance, include a nicely tuned 1350cc EXPAG engine, 5-speed gearbox, MG TF back axle and front disc brakes. There are five matching Bridgestone tyres on the painted, spoked wheels – all in good order. The underside of the car is a credit to the owner, as is the engine bay. The interior boasts original leather seats in fine fettle, which add a lovely patina. Carpets are excellent as are the door cards and the quality canvas hood and side screens all fit well and finish the car off nicely. There is also a tonneau cover. The dashboard is equipped to a high standard and everything appears to work. Flashers have been discreetly installed for safety. We understand that this car was at one time, owned and raced by a highly respected and long term MG garage proprietor, well known for his specialisation in XPAG engines. Comes with MOT to June 2023, V5C, original buff logbook and two continuation logbooks, also some recent invoices.
