For sale is my Honda CBR250RR MC22 which has covered just over 14, 000 miles.
Used on sunny summer evenings only, the bike is in a very clean and original condition, and has not been modified. Nothing has been polished or tampered with so the originality of the bike is fully intact. Most importantly, the frame and swingarm shows no oxidation or marks and looks like it is 1-2 years old instead of 30+ years old. The bike was imported in 1997 and sat in a collection until 2014 which probably explains the lack of corrosion. The original tool kit is still under the pillion seat.
The fuel tank is also in fantastic condition with no dings or scratches, the original warning decal is in place and there are no marks on the fuel cap. Internally there is no corrosion and I have always been careful in terms of how the bike is laid-up over the winter months. The bike is always run on Shell V Power / super unleaded.
Bodywork is original Honda, which is exceptionally difficult to find now. The bodywork is very nice but does have some age related marks in places.
The only other point of note is that there is some petrol staining on the right hand engine casing, from where a carb float valve stuck open for 2 miles last summer, causing fuel to come out of the overflow. This could be painted if you would like this to be pristine but I will not be doing this before the bike is sold.
The CBR rides as it should and revs cleanly up to the 19, 000rpm redline with ease. Being small and light, it’s also great fun in the corners.
MOT with no advisories; this expires in April 2023.
In the last 500 miles I have fitted a new chain and sprockets along with a brand new chain slider. The bike has had an oil and filter change, new spark plugs. It has also had an upgraded regulator/ rectifier to protect the Honda charging system. I’ll also include an aftermarket silencer with the sale.
