What a gorgeous car this Jaguar E-type Series 1 Roadster is! Originally sold in New York in 1966, it’s a left-hand drive example and retains its original colour scheme of cream with a red leather interior and black hood.
It spent time in California before coming to the UK in 2017. Once here, the car was treated to a full restoration. The bodywork was stripped and resprayed, and the brightwork replaced. The engine, gearbox and ancillaries rebuilt, the interior fully retrimmed, a new BAS mohair hood fitted, plus a myriad of other work was undertaken to bring it to the beautiful condition the car is in today. It has hardly been driven since its restoration.
The Series 1 is one of the most desirable E-type as it has the iconic headlamp covers and a purity of shape. The 4. 2-litre straight-six engine powers the car to 60mph in just seven seconds and on to a potential top speed of 150mph. This example is a joy to behold and a joy to drive. It’s extensive restoration makes it a safe purchase for any buyer. This is a car we are selling on behalf of the owner.
