A very nice MG TD, first registered in 1950 in South Africa, where it resided until the 1990s and then spent a period of time in Hong Kong with the same owner. It then came to the UK, again with the same owner, in 1997, before being purchased by the current owner in 2010. There is a good file of paperwork with the car, including invoices for servicing, and for some restoration works carried out in South Africa. The condition of the car is very good with no rust, no doubt because it spent so much time in warmer climes. The Old English White paintwork has only a few blemishes, the underside of the car is rust free, and clean and tidy, and the engine bay is similar. The interior of the car is in Apple Green, again, in good condition, and compliments the external colour nicely. The canvas hood, tonneau, hood cover and side screens are all in good order. The car starts easily and drives well with good oil pressure. Good original steering wheel, which makes a pleasant change. The chrome work, including wheel hubs is quite good but not perfect. There are two aeroscreens that we have removed for the time being. The car stands on original steel wheels with a set of matching tyres. A good value TD all ready for ‘the off’. Comes with MOT to July 2023.
