My mot’d mk1 golf is for sale and i bought this 6 years ago to drive while i built my other car. I have used this car frequently but lately i haven’t done as other projects have had my attention. This is a great car which is garaged and needs someone who can use it!

??in original condition, even with reg plate stamped glass this is a rare 1983 volkswagen golf mk1 gx. Some similarities you will notice are with the golf gti. This is not a gti but instead a run out model of the mk1 which was given some gti accessories. The gx features a 4 button steering wheel and seats like a gti and fog lights in the grill. This is a 5 door model and very much has a cool sleeper vibe.??
mileage is just over 96, 000 miles but one of the former owners was a mechanic who rebuilt the engine at 60, 000 miles (photographs on cd included). as part of a service on my whole collection i have given this golf a new head gasket and all the gaskets on top section have been replaced and a new water pump went on too (professionally fitted receipted). the car also has a weber all weather conversion carb making use in colder months easier. ??
the previous owner before me had the car stripped and painted in 2012 and again this is all documented with photographs. ?in 2013 the car was featured in vw heritage parts catalogue- a copy is included. ??
you are looking at a car which is driven and 10 years on from restoration so it has nothing to hide.
maintenance on my part has included fixing patches of paintwork which were damaged by dings or petrol overspill and even some tiny rust. Any rust left on the car is surface rust and superficial from average use.?

an entire folder with detailed history from around 2006 in included. A second key is included and any other original bits i have like original shocks. I have averaged 2, 700 miles a year in during my ownership of 6 years. The car has always been garaged when not in use.??
the car is now in storage but will be brought out for viewings. No tyre kickers please and listed elsewhere.
