Description
The Matchless G90 is a very rare pre war bike, perhaps as few as 8 to 10 machines worldwide .
This bike was built for vintage racing in the 70s by a gentleman in Scotland, and was used extensively. I acquired the bike in 2003, and have kept it in the same trim, but with an engine and gearbox rebuild since then . The bike win the 2007 Auto 66 hillclimb championship for its class, with only 1 DNF when the HT lead came adrift! More recently, it was paraded in the IOM in 2017, raced in Nals (Italy) in 2018.
Its not showroom condition, its not matching numbers, and I've never had a V5 for it.
It is rare, loud, fun and reliable. It runs methanol and "R" on an open pipe. Race tyres. Distinguishing features of a G90 are twin downtubes on the frame, and a bolt through engine , from the head right to the crank cases.
I may be able to help with delivery. I do have a Colman electric start so you dont need to push it, and a small selection of paddock type spares.
Any interested parties should note that the bike will be running at The Heritage Sprint, Betteshanger Park in Kent the weekend of 13 / 14 August. Come and say Hi!
