We are pleased to offer for sale this now quite rare MG TA model, which we understand has been in the same ownership since 1964. It was restored many years ago and has just passed its MOT test, but would now benefit from some further work. The car is sound and strong in structure, and until recently, was used regularly. You could either spend a few days sorting out some issues, and have a ‘better-than-oily-rag’ car for regular usage, or you might decide to carry out some more improvement and renovation work. The bodywork appears to be good, as does the chassis and the running gear. The car has an original type MPJG engine and 4-speed gearbox which need a bit of fettling, but both are in working condition. The upholstery is very good, as are the hood and side screens. The wheels have obviously been refurbished in recent times and all four tyres appear to be good. The brakes work well and have the advantage of Alfin brake drums, which significantly reduce brake fade. Flashing indicators have been fitted. The car comes with V5C, continuation log book from 1969 and a file of old invoices. A great way to enter the Pre-war MG market, that won’t break the bank. These TAs are great value compared with the earlier, OHC cars and are much easier to own and maintain – they also go better!
