Well, here is something you don’t see every day, our super rare 1984 Ford Escort XR3 TF (Team Ford) Factory Homologation Special.
A special version of the high-performance Escort XR3, RS1700 T rally car, our example was created by Ford to celebrate the win. Our sources tell us only 250 were made right hand drive and ours is the only 1 in the UK!
With the cancellation of the group B rally program, these cars new destination was South Africa.
Our example has come from our trusted Ford expert dealer who managed to secure a deal in South Africa and now it’s here in the UK with ourselves, fully UK registered, MOT'd, UKV5c available, soon to be tax free and historic (40 years old)
What is a TF I hear you ask, ok let me tell you; after the success of the Team Ford Cortina XR6, which shortly after its launch in February 1983 became a collectible along with the TF special XR3 we have in front of you today.
With Team Ford selection schedule and special sale interior and exterior was created XR3 TF
Ford owns word and press article state, the car's proven mega- technical specifications are kept. The aggressive styling of the standard XR3 with manual gearbox is retained, but the uniqueness of the special version word casually shown by the subtle use Span Ford livery clean stripes in three shades of blue and diamond white bodywork.
This theme is continued with a white grille, diamond white wheels and wheel centre, tinted glass all around, sunroof, the interior of the Span Ford XR3 has high quality headrests and door panels are of high-quality Cover ombre material.

Condition, this example is used and has had a life, as such we have left it like this, priced it accordantly and to show its true condition, it’s not been a show car or even the last owner never knew it’s true one off value and special credentials. The dash board has suffered from sun damage, there are marks on the seats and the headlining is showing its ages. However, all there to be used, a rare find and enjoyed or do you carry out a full restoration and have something no one else has? the choice is yours.

We kindly ask that you arrange an appointment first to view before setting off making sure this car is still for sale and a deposit has not been taken. All cars are fully inspected, and come with 12 months MOT. Our cars are HPI clear & checked, as a member of HPI and VMC (vehicle mileage check) we carry out one of these before purchase. We welcome any independent inspections and have all facilities available to do this in our heated in door workshops.
