Description
NOW SOLD........ This is a rare Ducati 916S1 Monoposto and one of only 199 produced in 1994 at the Cagiva Research Centre in Varese. (Ian Falloon 916 book on Ducati’s page 154) A fire at Ducati HQ in Bologna just after the 916 launch in 1994 meant that production had to be moved to the Cagiva Centre in Varese where these bikes were built mainly by hand using many parts from the 851 and 888 super bikes and are now recognised as the highly sought after 916 "Varese". Of these hand built collectable 1994 examples only 199 Ducati 916S Monopostos were produced! There have been two previous European owners to me. 1st registered 08/ 08/ 1994, the bike is in a beautiful condition. It has not been restored and has kept its original features, covering just 12, 729 miles. I was informed it had been exhibited more recently. The Ducati is 100% correct apart from the red chain and rear carbon mud guard. The bike is fitted with the original P8 ECU unit, the Cagiva elephant logo is present throughout.
