This car is a good solid example of the Riley 9 Monaco with a "Special Series" engine and "All Helical" gearbox. Not a concourse winner but very presentable and was subject to a complete body off restoration some years ago. The restoration has now mellowed into a very useable pre war car. The interior is largely original and you will be sitting where the first owner sat 89 years ago. The engine was rebuilt several years ago but has done very few miles since, it runs well with good oil pressure and compressions. The car has recently benefited from a rewire. The brakes have been relined and a new brake cable and various pulleys have been fitted. All 5 tyres are very good and display very little wear, the spare being unused. The twin SU carburettors have been rebuilt with genuine parts from Southern Carburettors. It has also been fitted with a crankshaft driven alternator from Brooklands Engine Craft thus ensuring that the battery is always being charged. Car rewired with correct cloth covered wire
Steering box stripped and rebuilt
All steering rods removed and ball joints stripped, cleaned and rebuilt with new
springs
Gear box mounting rubbers replaced
Bonnet tape fitted to radiator
Hand brake return spring replaced
Steering tracked
Ignition coil, leads, distributor cap and plugs replaced
Wiper arms and blades replaced
Right hand wiper wheel box rebuilt
Exhaust re-hung
Speedo rebuilt
Carbs stripped, cleaned and rebuilt with new needles and jets. Float needles and
seats replaced
