Description

Date of Registration: 24th March 1933

Tax Class: Historic Vehicle

This "time warp" Riley is powered by the 6 cylinder engine mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox.  Known as the 4-light owing to four side windows (two per side). This gives the car a sleek, streamlined design, more so than the 6-light that followed.

A compact sporty saloon with a lower bonnet line, short radiator and distinctive tail, many see this as one of the most sporting saloons of the 1930s.  Patented rear footwells giving a low seating position without raising the roofline added to the overall aesthetic appearance.

This one owner (on the V5c) Riley is, to us, an utter joy.

Starting on the button with some work having been done on the engine it drives and changes gear readily. The rest of the car is as you see in the pictures; patinated some would call it, oily rag to others, but definitely with a little TLC could be used "as is" or, should one be so inclined, ripe for restoration.

A very early example of an increasingly rare model, this sporting saloon is priced at £13, 900. Date of Registration: 24th March 1933
