EXTERIOR
Having been fully refinished in attractive Keswick Green, this low mileage factory soft-top presents in exceptional condition throughout. The paintwork appears incredibly fresh with a deep shine and no unsightly blemishes to report. During the car’s restoration the half doors and khaki canvas hood were renewed, and the exterior trims were re-galvanised for a consistent finish. A Keswick Green chequer plate panel was riveted to the centre of the bonnet and new lights were fitted all round, including the headlights which are now more powerful LED units.
INTERIOR
Inside, the three seats have been recovered in tan and black leatherette with cream piping, and the original steering wheel has been changed for a rather nice wood-rimmed item. The upholstery is immaculately presented with only the lightest hint of use on the driver’s side, and in the footwells the floors are protected by a set of heavy duty Defender overmats. Glancing across the dash all the switchgear remains in fine fettle and the centre panel has been painted to match the exterior. Another nice touch is the newly fitted Land Rover Classic infotainment system equipped with USB, Bluetooth, and satellite navigation.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Lifting the bonnet you’ll find the hardy 2. 5-litre Td5 engine, barely run-in with only 44k miles from new. The engine bay appears in fine condition and the car has clearly been well maintained throughout its life. The last service was done at 43, 600 miles and a fresh service will be carried out upon sale for the new keeper’s peace of mind.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The Defender sits 16-inch steel wheels; finished in complementing Keswick Green they all present in perfect unmarked condition. All five are shod in matching rugged Goodyear tyres with plenty of tread remaining. The vehicle further benefits from recently renewed suspension components, brake discs, calipers, and hoses.
HISTORY FILE
First registered in April 2004 this handsome Defender 90 is a genuine factory-built soft-top. Originally painted in Java Black the car was fully resprayed in the classic Land Rover hue of Keswick Green during its restoration. Finished to a very high standard and boasting a handful of cosmetic modifications, this Defender will comfortably take both the daily commute and arduous expeditions in its stride. Services have been carried out at the following mileages: 6, 089 – 11, 823 – 17, 086 – 19, 780 – 22, 856 – 29, 742 – 36, 123 – and most recently at 43, 600 miles. A fresh service will be completed on sale and the advisory-free MOT is valid until August 2023.
