Enthusiast owned & cherished 1996 Mercedes SL500 R129 in Rubin Pearl metallic red paint. 96 model -no biodegradable harness & 5 speed . mileage : 61, 000 . The pictures display the excellent yet original condition of the car. Between 1998 to 2004 it was kept in Monaco (no salt) & has always been Garaged. The condition of the paint & soft top display this . Always garaged with soft cover & on a trickle charger. Driven only during April - Sept & never in the rain . The previously ceramic coated paint has been topped up with ceramic wax. After 2 stage wash the car is always polished + dried before garage. It fires up within seconds when cold or hot and idles with full oil pressure. Coolant remains at 80-85 celcius even when idling in hot weather . There is no corrosion on the body with only a few very light marks . The underside is very clean and the new front suspension components are clearly visible . The hardtop has barely been used and the headliner was fully replaced in 2020 . Full MBSH till 58500 miles when it had major B service incl fuel , oil filters & Spark plugs. Since then we have replaced all the front suspension components -New control arms, Anti Roll Bar Bushes, Top Mounts, bump stops, dampers, Track rods, steering damper. NEW F& R discs ( larger 320 / 300mm size) ,& pads from Mercedes. Transmission fluid + filter , differential oil, soft top motor fluid, PS fluid and return line all renewed. New Bosch accessory belt. Climate control fully operational. Original dealer fitted Blaupunkt Stereo with 6 CD boot mounted CD changer. Upgraded HID bulbs. All electric adjustments + soft top working fine. Original spare . FRESH MOT + Service A done 28/ 7/ 22 . All original papers included and brochure all previous certs . 1 main key and valet key . Tracker fitted 1997. These are hard to find in this condition in the most desirable year range and engine/ transmission combo. Exterior condition is fantastic. All the common issues with regards to rusting of sills and arches are non existent. Recently having it upon a ramp shows brand new suspension components all around, brand new exhaust. No corrosion of any kind.
Rear bumper looks ever so slightly dull to the keen eye. I have been told. Interior condition is fantastic. Seats have next to no bolster wear, discoloration or creasing. Headlining is brand new. The trim which is prone to scratching and fading and cracking is in fantastic condition. FullAll mechanics are in near perfect condition. The radio Ariel belt needs replacing.
