Beskrivning
This is a 1999 Aston Martin DB7 Volante, RHD, finished in Black with a two-tone black and cream leather interior. The clock shows 57, 000 miles from new!
Designed by Ian Callum, the Aston Martin DB7 was available as a coupé or convertible, and with a manual or an automatic gearbox. Initially offered with either a straight-six or a V8 engine, the range was later expanded to include the glorious six-litre V12 engine. Famously intended to be the Jaguar F-TYPE, the DB7’s chassis can trace its roots directly to that of the Jaguar XJS. You’ll be pleased to hear though, that the underpinnings were so thoroughly re-engineered by Tom Walkinshaw racing (TWR) as to make them completely different cars. Built in the same factory that used to build the Jaguar XJ220, the DB7 is the only modern Aston Martin to utilize a steel monocoque body. Not that anyone has ever cared what it’s made from because the DB7 is one of the most beautiful cars of the 20th century.
This car presents well for its age and mileage and the paint is in generally good condition. The interior is in lovely condition and the soft top looks almost new and works perfectly. The 6-cylinder 24 valve, supercharged DOHC engine, delivers 335bhp and accelerates with a seamless surge of power. She has had 6 former keepers and has an excellent service history with 17 stamps from main dealers and specialists spanning pre-delivery to 2019. In 2020 the cars brakes were removed and new callipers, discs, pads, mounts and shoes were fitted. In 2021 invoices on file show the car had the air conditioning condenser replaced and some work to the mirrors completed at a cost of £1, 258. The history file also contains previous MoT certificates. The car passed an advisory-free MoT in May of 2022 and is ready to hit the road. She is missing her Hubcaps but these can be shourced or alternatively an upgrade to the Vantage Wheels is probably cheaper!
The DB7 offers an affordable route into Aston Martin ownership and relatively affordable running costs. Combined with what many regard as one of the most significant designs of the 1990s the '7' continues to serve up great value in this fantastic colour combination.
