We are delighted to offer this Home Market, UK supplied RHD MGA MKI 1600 Coupe onto the market. This very correct car presents beautifully with lovely, smart paintwork, impressive chrome work throughout, a lovely aged upholstery and is well suited to its correct, original steel wheels. Still retaining its original registration mark 693 HDH, our MGA Coupe was first registered on the 15th January 1960 and has had just four owners over the past 37 years covering 12, 000 miles.
From 1986 to 2017 the MGA Coupe was in Sutton Coldfield. The first of its two Midlands based owners covered 4000 miles between 1986 and 1992, and it then changed hands covering 8000 miles from 1992 to 2017. It was during this period of ownership the MGA was subject of a restoration, it was taken off the road in 2007, and in 2011 the body was taken off the chassis ahead of a comprehensive rebuild in 2012 that took around five years to complete. The MG was back on the road by 2017, when it was sold to its next owner in Neston, Cheshire.
Having covered just a few miles since completion, one of our regular customers bought the MGA with the intentions of long-term ownership and began preparing the car for touring, but has since had a change of circumstances. Throughout 2022 a program of work has been completed that included removing the cylinder head and converting it to unleaded specification. Due to lack of use, the cooling system has been completely overhauled with new radiator, cooling hoses, water pump, thermostat housing, new heater matrix, heater valve and new core plugs. Two new 6 volt batteries have been fitted, carburettors rebuilt and further new parts include a wiper motor and dual temperature gauge ensuring the MGA is ready to use and enjoy.
