EXTERIOR
F8F8 designates the deep and beautiful hue of Midnight Blue Metallic. The 993 suits Midnight Blue particularly well, the colour showing great depth as light dances across the bodywork. The paint is deep and glossy with a few noticeable chips to report.
INTERIOR
The cabin of the 993 is one of Teutonic efficiency and ergonomics. Porsche’s of this vintage were built solidly and this example is the perfect case in point – the switch gear for instance, feels beautifully damped with a perfectly defined moment and weight of action. The Marble Grey Leatherette is a wonderful match to the Midnight Blue exterior and light floods in when the steel sunroof is open, adding to the driver and passenger experience.
The seats are supportive and offer good location when cornering hard. There is little sign of use anywhere in the interior and the seat bolsters remain free of any rips or tears. The rear seats have clearly seen little use and can be folded flat to add further storage to the interior and indeed protect the leather.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Known internally as the M64/ 20, this 993 benefits from the updated VarioRam engine, which altered the length of the air intake ducts to enhance low and mid range driveabillty further. On test drive, the engine feels very fit and potent with a wonderfully raspy exhaust note courtesy of stainless steel tailboxes.
Drivetrain is tight and assured with the clutch master cylinder replaced just over 1k miles ago and the camshaft gasket being replaced in december 2022
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 18 inch turbo twist alloys present in excellent condition shod in a set of Continental with plenty of tread on all four corners.
Brake pad material showing plenty of life with discs also in great condition, stopping the car quickly and smoothly.
HISTORY FILE
A local car and supplied new in January of 1996 by AFN Guildford, this C4 has a total of 15 stamps in the original service book and has clearly been looked after from day one. With the book stamped up to 78k miles, a series of invoices pick up the timeline with a combination of local specialists – Carrera Performance and SMDG – looking after the car over the last few years.
Work has been carried out in December 2022 including new brake lines, camshaft gasket and various other parts totalling up to a bill over £6, 000.
The chronological history file does read well with all original books, manuals, V5 and spare key present and correct.
