Manufactured in 1970 and first registered in the UK 01/ 02/ 1971
Only 85, 600 Miles
Bought new for £500 in 1971 by the first owner (Previously head of the Fiat 500 South West owners club) this beautiful little Fiat stayed in the same family until 2018 when it was purchased by the current owner. This is essentially an amazing 2 owner car (although shows 3 on the log book) as it has been owned by mother and son.
This is a super rare find and in such amazing time warp condition showing how well it’s been preserved over its life. Garaged since day one and has always been maintained and defies its age.
It been prepared for sale with a recent inspection, MOT, new battery and a very light cosmetic refresh to the paint, it remains highly original. All original panels are straight and free from rust. (believed to have had a replacement OSF wing in the past)
All inner wings, boot, floors, cills and engine bay are exceptional and only show signs of light cosmetic blemishes and patina commensurate with a car of this age.
The interior has aged superbly and all vinyl seats and door cards are in fantastic condition as are the carpets, all switch gear, handles and sunroof.
With the assistance of the hand choke and a buzz of the fuel pump, the sweet little 500cc, 18bhp engine fires into life and sits idling away and warming through. Gearbox remains as the original 4 speed non synchro crash box but selects as you’d expect and pushes this little gem along to a steady speed and with a big smile on your face.
We are not going to be breaking any records for speed and there’s not much chance of breaking urban speed limits either but it’s much more about the nostalgic joy of driving this well preserved little beauty than beating the clock from A to B. Sun roof open, countryside cruising or buzzing city streets this little Fiat is ready to go.
