Description
The VF1000RE is a celebration of the V4’s racing heritage and was a showcase for the technology Honda had developed on the race track. It still featured the same 998 cc V-4 engine in its rectangular section frame but this was the first VF1000 to have the gear driven cams that would become a trademark of future V4 Hondas. The VF1000RE modifications increased the claimed output of the V4 engine to 122 bhp and in 1984 that was stratospheric.
The RE colour scheme is Fighting Red with Shasta White and Candy Aleutian Blue and the paint is deep and delicious.
In remarkable condition, this rare 6000 mile, UK example comes with the original bill of sale, Honda ‘Credit Card’, all service books and manuals, a raft of paperwork and past MOT certificates supporting the bikes authenticity and it even has the original tool kit stowed lovingly in the binnacle.
