This very usable, older restoration arrived with us in late 2022 in part exchange for an Austin 10. Priced very sensibly, we sold the 2CV almost immediately to another long term customer who has enjoyed briefly owning the 2CV, but his needs are for a slightly larger, more comfortable classic so the 2CV has come back to us in part exchange, and will offered on sale by us for the third time in ten years. We first sold this Citroen 2CV Charleston in 2013 and since then it has covered around 8000 miles with its owner of nine years in Harrogate, and more recent owner in Hull. The 2CV is MOT tested until August 2023 and is on the button, and ready to drive away and enjoy.
The 2CV was initially restored 22 years ago and since then mileage is closer to 20, 000. A detailed list is on file confirming the 2CV had a re-conditioned complete engine fitted, brake overhaul, various new suspension components, new exhaust system, new galvanised chassis and various work to the body. The seats were re-trimmed in two tone leather complimenting the Charleston colour scheme. Photos are on file to support the work.
Since being with its longer term owner in Harrogate, the 2CV has had further expense to include removal of the body by 2CV City in Bradford. The body was removed off the chassis and refurbished, costing £5, 000. Other work since we last saw the vehicle includes new king pins, new exhaust, new brake pipes, wheel bearings, coil pack and leads, rebuilt carburettor, re-conditioned gearbox and new clutch kit. In total this former owner has spent in the region of £10, 000 including servicing and general maintenance and upkeep.
Whilst the 2CV has had a huge level of expense, it's what we would describe as a ‘user'. F565 EWR has its imperfections and blemishes, but it's a solid example that could be driven anywhere today. It's not an example to try and show, it's an ideal daily user, its robust, a great driver and whilst it most certainly can be improved, it can be left as it is to be enjoyed and driven on a regular basis. We don't expect it to be around for long at this price.
