Ford GT40 by KVA. Chassis and body delivered from KVA in 1986 but only registered for the 1st time in 2000 (UK registration – KVA).
As all GT40 replica’s need to be this example is RHD and has the right hand side gearshifter. This all meets the exact spirit of the time. The interior also has a Le Mans passanger seat fitted and a custom fit moulded driver’s side bucket seat. A period correct dashboard replicates the original examples and this all gives you a nice vintage racing atmosphere once you slide into the cockpit.
The car is powered by a Ford 302Ci (4942cc) with about 285Bhp that is fed by a 4 barrel Holley 600CFM carburetor sitting on an Edelbrock manifold. These are coupled to a set of 2 Facet fuelpumps. The gearbox comes from Renault, 5 speed, that has been reinforced and upgraded with quaife gears and a limited slip differential. To keep this racer on the road it has been equipped with Spax adjustable shock absorbers all around. Behind the 4 alloy wheels with central knock-offs you will find some big vented and grooved disc brakes that are operated by a set of two Tilton master brake cilinders. For even better handling it has also been equipped with front and rear anti-roll bars.
Also thoughts have been given to saftety. Therefor an inboard safety rollcage has been installed, a Sparco ‘in car’ and engine fire extinghisher system has been added, a pair of 3” safety harnesses, cut-off switches and an FIA led rain light completes the package.
For the race fans or trackday fans the alloy wheels have been fitted with AVON CR6-77 tyres that comes in 225/ 60R15 size in front and 275/ 55R15 on the rear to give you maximum grip.
This is a GT40 that behaves very well in normal or either race modus and above all this it looks extemely cool in its British racing green livery with old english white racing stripe. The black wheels give it an even more brutal look.
