Here we have a lovely little Series 2 Morris Minor. First owner had the car for 24 years. There is a good history file with a photo copy of the original paper logbook showing three owners up to October 1977. In total there have been seven owners.
The car has clearly been cared for and presents well, especially considering it is seventy years old with an original patina that would be hard to replicate. It has the 918cc side valve unit that is in extremely good condition, always starts 'on the button' and has great oil pressure and no abnormal noises. Transmission is likewise; very good for the vehicles age.
The car has been inspected and fitted with five new tyres on refurbished wheels, the brakes have been checked and adjusted and brake fluid has been replaced. Mechanically, the car is very good and there is a document in the history file to advise that a reconditioned engine was fitted in July 2017. Subsequent invoices show that the last owner certainly maintained the car with an attention to detail.
As can be seen in the pictures, there is some work that would benefit the car (such as the passenger door and lower section of the boot lid corrosion) but, it can be used and enjoyed as it is with no immediate work required. At some point in its life it has had a colour change from dark grey to the lighter shade of grey it wears now but I have no documentation to identify when this change took place.
There is a temptation to restore the car but, its patina and originality present so well that it should be left as is or, up to the new owner to decide what route should be chosen (i. e. full restoration or maintain and renew items as necessary). It is clear that recently, the seats have been reupholstered to a good standard and apart from the ageing roof lining, the interior is very tidy with smart carpets and good door panels. Even the semaphore indicators work as should and bring a smile to the observer.
The car is being sold as an enjoyable daily driver which can be improved upon as and when necessary or the opportunity arises. Viewings are encouraged but alternatively I am happy to undertake live video calls to demonstrate the vehicle. Delivery can also be arranged
