Description
Good points:
- Full service history except for 1 stamp missing up until my ownership, and since my ownership, I have tended to servicing myself due to my engineering background. The only issue I have had with the car in my ownership was that the throttle body needed cleaning and the intake hose needing replacing, which has been done along with very regular servicing due to my significant commuter mileage (motorways).
- The car pulls nicely and handling is firm and confident in the corners, partly helped due to the low profile 18" OEM 'snowflake' alloys in anthracite grey. Fuel economy is fair given the 1. 8 L engine, I have always managed around 36mpg.
- ST bodykit that is factory fitted is very desirable, giving the looks whilst retaining the fair fuel economy of the standard 1. 8L engine. Desirable 3 door model is significantly rarer (and better looking!) than the 5 door version.
- Comes with a year's MOT: advisories only for a front brake disk, rear drop link ball joint, and a small windscreen crack
Bad points:
- Driver's side seat doesn't hinge forward to allow passengers into the back; this isn't a problem for me as I disliked adjusting the seat to let people in the back, so I just made them get in from the passenger side :D
- Rattle at around 3000 rpm - haven't investigated this but it could be an exhaust bracket or an engine pulley/ tensioner.
- Idles at around 700 as seen on pics when warm, but can bounce a little when cold.
- Bodywork is good and in line with the age, happy to send a video pointing out all flaws before a viewing, just don't expect a spotless car, it is from 2009 remember :)
Bodywork: In good condition consummate with the age; the driver's side has a few small dents if viewed at an angle, as well as a few scratches on the door, which has been reflected in the price.
Reason for sale: I've been given the opportunity to buy one of my dream cars which takes the place of this car as a daily driver.
(Aftermarket head unit will be replaced with the original unit for any sale)
