We are delighted to present for sale this early Series 3 Land Rover®, which is finished in rarely seen and sought after Limestone colour scheme, complete with sand canvas and limestone wheels.
Externally, all the features you’d hope to see are present – the bonnet mounted spare, rear grab handles, rear mud flaps, vintage number plates, front lamp guards, etc etc. A set of 750 tyres have been fitted, with knobbly tread for that strong stance, and to increase gearing and reduce revs when cruising. A recent canvas is fitted too – and this, coupled with all the other features, makes for, in our opinion, a very handsome looking vehicle indeed.
On the inside, there are three deluxe front seats, along with deluxe matting in the footwells. There are a pair of front deluxe door cards fitted, with both door pulls and arm rests, a real rarity to see in such good condition & they really give that premium feel to the front. Also fitted is a front seat belt bar, allowing for 3 point inertia reel “plug and play” seatbelts – a nice touch which makes things much easier – particularly if you want to carry younger children with a booster seat/ car seat. The rear houses a pair of twin benches, along with a mat to the floor to protect against damage and scratches. This means seating for seven including the driver. A pair of deluxe tailgate chain covers are also fitted to stop these rattling against the tailgate when driving, which is a nice touch too. This is just about the nicest possible interior one can have in a SWB soft top Land Rover® without breaking the bank and deviating from the originality of the car – and it really does make a world of difference when out and about – safer, more comfortable and quieter too.
Out on the road, this delivers a pleasing period drive without frills or drama – the larger rubber extends the gearing and drops the revs, but other than this, it is true to the original brief when out on the tarmac. It stops just as it should. In the current summer weather, the Limestone colour scheme really shines – and that is reflected in the positive attention it receives!
