The Tipo, otherwise known as the Type 160, was a small Italian hatchback produced between 1988 – 2000, offering affordable motoring for modern families. The car was built on a fresh platform and made with all galvanised panels to avoid that characteristic 1980s Italian rust; it even won European Car of the Year in 1989.
This car is the S Action example and features roof bars, electric windows and a sunroof. It’s presented in a deep metallic red with the only issue to report on the body panels being the sun-bleached bonnet. According to the odometer the car has only done 25, 000 miles from new which is backed up to 2005 by digital MOT certificates and its service history. The car drives well for something that has seen very little use in recent year. The underside is in good order and remains solid and the interior is in great condition. The car is offered with a number of old V5C’s including a current registration document, some service history including the original bill of sale from 1994 with delivery mileage, mainly looked after by Stephen Swann Cars, original Fiat handbooks and even includes its original radio, toolkit and aerial grommet for when the roof rack is in use. A fantastic, low mileage example of what is now a very rare car with ‘howmanyleft. co. uk’ reporting just three of this variant currently registered on UK roads.

Vehicles that are un-registered or on foreign plates may require Import Duty and Vat to be paid upon purchase via HMRC prior to registering with the DVLA for a UK plate, if you are not sure please ask. For classic cars over 30 years this equates to 5% Duty on the final value. For cars described as MOT exempt (pre-1983) these vehicles may need their exemption registered with the DVLA.
