R. E. A. L are honoured to offer the Sidnell collection barn finds in our upcoming auction. A variety of motor vehicles from the late Peter Sidnell who rented the same Wiltshire barn for over 30 years and was an avid fettler and classic car enthusiast. The majority of the cars were acquired before the early 80’s through friends and family where Peter had previously helped maintain their vehicles.
The Renault 25 was produced as an executive saloon between 1983-1992 with a front engine, front wheel drive format. It was noted as one of the first production cars to use aerodynamics to form its shape. This pre-facelift example was first registered in January of 1984 so could well be one of the first of its type to arrive in the UK. There are currently just six TXI 25s registered on UK roads according to the DVLA. Used by the vendor’s family as one of their two Renaults, the tax appears to have expired in 1993 meaning it had less than 10 years of use on the road before being out in the barn for the following 30 years, it remains in solid condition - body and underside. The car currently turns over and produces a spark but does not start. There is damage to one front wing and the majority of parts removed appear to be in the back of the car. Comes with V5C and key.
To be auctioned along with a fantastic selection of other vehicles on July 1st at our Showell Farm site, SN15 2NU with viewing on the 29th and 30th of June, you can also join us at our Nostalgia Social cars & coffee event on June 25th. Viewing is welcome prior to sale and all cars are sold as seen, condition reports can be requested on each lot by contacting us direct. Lots are not available to buy prior to auction. Fully illustrated catalogue is available on the Richard Edmonds Auction website. Bids can be made online, by telephone or live on site. All lots are subject to commission.
Vehicles that are un-registered or on foreign plates may require Import Duty and Vat to be paid upon purchase via HMRC prior to registering with the DVLA for a UK plate, if you are not sure please ask. For classic cars over 30 years this equates to 5% Duty on the final value. For cars described as MOT exempt (pre-1983) these vehicles may need their exemption registered with the DVLA.
