1961 Norton 350cc Navigator
Reg. no. XAS 284
Frame no. 1998829
Engine no. 1998829
£1, 900 - 2, 000
Introduced for 1961, one year after the Jubilee, the Navigator was the first bike to be built on the Norton production line at Plumstead. With the 349cc model, the firm addressed almost all of the 250’s troubles and produced a very fine lightweight four-stroke twin. This standard matching numbers example, from a private collection, is in generally good all-round condition although will require some recommissioning. This navigator was despatched from the factory to Horsman Motorcycles of Liverpool and purchased by H. W. Dulson of Birkenhead in April 1962. It is offered here with a V5C, two old V5s, a letter from the Norton Owner’s Club dated 1994 and a dating certificate from 2003.

Vehicles that are un-registered or on foreign plates may require Import Duty and Vat to be paid upon purchase via HMRC prior to registering with the DVLA for a UK plate, if you are not sure please ask. For classic cars over 30 years this equates to 5% Duty on the final value. For cars described as MOT exempt (pre-1983) these vehicles may need their exemption registered with the DVLA.
