The Norton P11 is today considered one of the most desirable and collectible Norton twins of the late 1960s. Combining the powerful 750cc Norton Atlas engine with the lightweight Matchless competition frame, the P11 was developed specifically for the American desert racing scene and produced in limited numbers.
This motorcycle presents extremely well and retains the characteristic stance and proportions that make the P11 such an iconic machine.

The P11 combines the powerful Norton Atlas 750 twin with the lightweight Matchless competition frame, creating a motorcycle with a very special character and unmistakable “desert sled” appearance. Produced in relatively small numbers and originally intended for the American market, the P11 has become highly collectible today.
What immediately attracted me to this example was its overall authenticity and matching numbers engine and frame. The motorcycle is accompanied by a VMCC dating certificate and UK V5C registration document. According to the VMCC records, it was manufactured on 10th July 1967 and dispatched to Berliner, New York, Norton’s official US importer at the time.
The bike presents beautifully while still retaining the proper feel and presence of a genuine classic British motorcycle rather than an over-restored museum piece. The riding position, high-level exhausts, lightweight feel and strong Atlas engine give the P11 a personality unlike most other Nortons of the period.
The motorcycle starts, runs and rides well and always attracts attention wherever it goes. It has been carefully maintained and kept as part of a private collection.
It is a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine and documented Norton P11 with matching numbers and correct period character.
