History of Vehicle
This Jensen Interceptor was registered in April 1976 and was built for the display at the 1976 Irish Motor Show.
This Jensen Interceptor had been well looked after all of its life with a fastidious service history and supporting invoices.
The large file contains a very good history of receipts, notes and drawings which is true testament to its loving owners over the years for servicing work and parts fitted from its registration in 1976, as it’s a genuine UK car it has main dealer invoices of Jensen from the 1970’s and specialist garages paperwork describing in detail the work carried out and the sourcing of genuine and high-quality parts, including two sets of keys.
This Jensen Interceptor has only covered just over 58, 800 miles over its life which illustrates the care the car has received and low use it has had.
Currently this Jensen Interceptor is part of a high quality and varied car collection, its current owner purchased it in 2014 and used it to attend local car shows and marque rally’s and club meets.
In 2018 the owner instructed his local specialist engineering and technically experienced garage that the car was to be given a complete and thorough review front to back.
Following the production of the written report and several meetings with the garage it was decided that it was such a good car to start with and would be a prime candidate for a body restoration and mechanical overhaul.
The bodywork was stripped and repainted, a special order was placed with Martin Robey for a new bonnet which matched the existing one and was made to fit perfectly.
As shown in the photographs the quality of the exterior body work is like new with no dents, dings or scratches The Interior feels like new with the front seats being cleaned and leather treatment applied to any scruffs. The rear seats and all interior leather being thoroughly cleaned and treated. All seats are very well presented, firm and fully operational, the rear seats show little to no use in its life and the mechanical presentation is outstanding with a clean, leak and drip free engine bay.
Those of you may have noticed in the pictures there is a ‘J’ badge on the rear boot lid and the interior dashboard, this Jensen Interceptor is known as the Series III – S4, being in the final run of cars which had the dashboard changed from the moulded black plastic to the leather trimmed Walnut dashboard surround for the instrument dials and central console.
The mechanical work included a complete service, all belts, fluids, and filters changed, new disc brakes and pads and pipes and plates and any auxiliary items were surveyed and replaced due to age or being inoperative.
The restoration of the body and the mechanical work took approx. 2 years, since this time, it has been serviced and MOT’d regardless of miles covered which have been minimal each year but still retains its natural patina so that it kept its own character.
This Jensen Interceptor has received the following upgrades :
The Interior seats and central console were replaced with Quilted handmade leather pieces.
The seats were upgraded to being Heated
Uprated cooling system
Uprated Alternator
High torque starter motor
Upgraded entertainment with Bluetooth
