A nice original early version Honda CB400N Superdream which has in the recent few years been put back on the road.
Ask for link to more pictures.
It has it seems all the correct early features including kick start and the earlier comstar wheels etc. The often missing rear grab rails are there too! I think all that is missing of note is the tool box lid under the seat along with the tools.
It presents well although if I am honest the pictures may flatter it slightly. Original dull in places chrome, original frame paint touched up in many places... but so much better to correct than over thick powder coating I often see. Every works I think with exception of the kill switch which I have not got round too yet.
The seat cover looks recent, the paint redone some time ago it wpuld seem and I would say 7/ 10. It is smart but has a few areas of poor preparation and some microblistering.
It has had various matters seen to including a new collector box for the exhaust, a new camchain, valves set, carbs cleaned with new parts, braided brake hoses, fork seals etc.
The tyres have loads of tread, are not perished but by no means recent. They seem to hold air indefinitely as they should.
The rear number plate I think is original which tells you all you need to know really.... a nice unmessed with original machine.
It starts on motor or kick and rides really well I would say. If I am picky the carbs are not quite there yet, the pilot/ idle circuits I think are still suffering from lack of use over many years. I have fiddled it so it idles albeit bot quite as smooth as I would usually get them and the revs take a little while to drop to idle but the plugs are a very good colour and pulls away and rides well through the rev range.
A nice riding machine to use as is or a very straight forward renovation which is not a pile of rusty mess...... personally I feel it is too good to restore and would I think simply improve it if desired.
Revival motors is a very part time business which deals in classic cars and motorcycles of a type I like…………. turning a hobby into a very part time vocation I actually enjoy for over 25 years. I am always happy to discuss my vehicles which usually I have used and will always point out any known faults, issues or areas that could be improved.
