Externally, we think this is a very handsome Series indeed – the bodywork has been restored to a really good standard, with a good quality, spray finish. All of the features you’d want are fitted to this one – vintage plates for that classic look, rear grab handles, towbar with electrics to allow towing, a recent canvas for that fresh look, a new bumper to complete things… 750 brand new tyres with a matching bonnet mounted spare, larger mirrors for better visibility – the list goes on.
On the inside, this theme of refurbishing without cost continues – deluxe matting is fitted to the footwells, a brand new set of deluxe seats is fitted, along with matching benches in the rear, giving seating for seven including the driver. Even little touches like the re-trimmed dash & tailgate chain covers in the matching black vinyl show a real level of care and attention which is pleasing to see.
Out on the road, this drives as well as a period set up can – a weber carburettor is fitted for extra power, whilst those new tyres give better gearing over standard, meaning that the cruise is easier and the cabin noise less intrusive.
