Description
Purchased via Bonham's Bicester Heritage auction in 2020 from a deceased estate, this rare Oxford Blue RV8 has seen little use since purchase due to the owner having a collection of other vehicles that have distracted him.
Reviving and updating the MGB Roadster's design and bolting in a Rover V8 3. 9-litre was a considered gamble for MG in the early 1990s but the result was a civilised, refined sports car. On the market between 1992 and 1995, fewer than 2, 000 were built, with most going to Japan. Offered here is a late example whose bodywork, blue paint, trim and wheels/ tyres are all in excellent condition. The interior, including the cream leather seats, carpet and dashboard are all good, as are the wood door cappings and dashboard. The engine starts easily and the car performs really well with plenty of urge and that evocative soundtrack. There is a thick history file covering maintenance which is complemented by the recent service by ourselves and a fresh MoT.
Available for viewing in our dry, well lit, sales barn by appointment please.
