Description
This Stag has been in my ownership for the past 4 years and during that time it has covered less than 2, 000 miles. I am selling it now because I have another convertible and the Stag is not getting the use it deserves.
It is a well-sorted and usable example that has retained its original external and internal appearance, thereby maintaining its provenance and investment potential.
The bodywork is painted in the relatively rare period colour Java Green (introduced as a factory option in May 1975). Bodywork restoration and a full re-spray in this original colour were carried out in 2004.
The interior is as original specification, but with a modern radio. The black upholstery has been re-foamed and new carpets fitted in 2017.
The original Triumph V8 engine was re-built by Stag specialists Faversham Classics in 2004 and a full stainless steel exhaust system with tubular manifolds fitted. The car has only done 5000 miles since.
To ensure engine cooling reliability, the car has been fitted with a Stag Weber raised header tank.
The car has the later and more desirable Borg Warner type 65 automatic gearbox which was re-gasketed and fitted with a new oil cooler in 2022.
The starter motor has very recently been replaced.
Soft top was replaced in 2004 and is in very good condition.
Fitted with the correct Stag alloy wheels (4 brand new tyres in May 2019).
Duplicate set of keys.
Extensive history file with ownership timeline, receipts and MOTs from 1985.
Although not legally required, recent MOT pass with no advisories, expiring in September 2024.
Tax exempt.
