Iconic, sympathetic, fun, and a bundle of positivity: that’s how we would like best describe a Citroën Méhari. Citroën introduced the car as a lightweight passenger and commercial vehicle. The first Méhari appeared in 1968, and the model remained in production for 20 years. The Méhari has since become an icon and a beloved model among classic car enthusiasts.
Weighing only 535 kilograms, with fully independent suspension and a 602 cc engine out of the 2CV6 and Dyane, it was an instant crowd-pleaser. Economical to use, easy to maintain, and, of course, with the characteristic suspension characteristics of the Duck. Just under 145, 000 copies of the Méhari were built.
The Méhari you see here dates from 1974. A fully restored specimen in which virtually everything has already been renewed in readiness for its new owner. The result is a very fresh Méhari, and we don’t mean that just because of the white paint. The plastic bodywork is in excellent condition, and the paintwork is above average. The detachable doors and plastic soft top are also in excellent condition. The connoisseur has probably already noticed: we are dealing with a special edition here, the Cote d’Azur. Recognisable by its white and blue color scheme.
The interior has also been completely renewed with new upholstery that complements the body colours wonderfully. The dashboard, as far as we can call it that, contains a speedometer that also shows the amount of fuel and the mileage. Everything you see is in a very nice, undamaged condition.
Matters under the lightweight hood are just as fresh as the other parts of the car. A very well-maintained engine and beautifully clean engine compartment immediately inspire confidence. The whole looks absolutely well cared for. A most pleasurable vehicle in which you can have endless fun and enjoy many delightful rides with.
