We are very pleased to offer an ever popular and very versatile 1982 Austin Mini Clubman Estate HL. I am a life long fan of this variant and have owned many and I believe that they are virtually unique in the Classic Car world, they offer all the charms of the Classic Mini, have cool looks and are hugely versatile, as useful as a Van and yet can carry four people. Coupled to the fact that they are getting very rare now make them a fantastic proposition. This example is very special indeed and is probably the best available in the UK. It was comprehensively restored to Concourse standard in 2009 and has been carefully owned and enjoyed since with the accolade of being a multi award winning Mini at some of the biggest Mini shows. This is also the rarer HL model that was introduced at the end of Clubman Estate production, the wonderful Enberglow Red paint finish with Gold coach lines really make it stand out from the crowd. This matching numbers example is accompanied with three large folders of history including its original handbooks and Super cover service books, files of service receipts and previous MOT certificates.
This wonderful Estate received a comprehensive restoration that has a full photographic thread and a folder full of the endless list of parts used, in todays market it would probably cost nearly twice the asking price of this stunning Mini to get close to this standard.
On the road it is an absolute pleasure to drive. The original engine and gearbox, which were rebuilt at the same time as the restoration, offers smooth power from a near silent 998 unit with strong oil pressure. The ride is smooth and precise and has been uprated with a Coil Spring conversion that make it glide over the bumpy stuff and the brakes have been upgraded to Cooper S discs. What you will need to prepare yourself for is all the attention you will receive as the condition amazes people and the fact that you are driving a Mini Clubman Estate, they are such a rare sight these days. As you can see it sits on its original ten inch wheels with the correct hub caps, it also comes with a sexy set of ten inch Rose Petal alloy wheels with as new wider profile Falken tyres to add a purposeful stance if required.
The interior is stunning and the lucky new owner has a choice of two interiors, both included with the Mini. Currently fitted is a bespoke professionally made complete interior, based on original Mini seats and including front and rear door cards, finished in cream and Sunkist red, fully reclining seats with headrests with a beautiful attention to detail. Also included is the original HL Tan shadow woven check trim and door cards. The interior also has a period Rokee walnut dash with auxiliary gauges showing Voltage and Oil pressure and a retro Pioneer cassette player. A beautiful wood rim Mota-Lita steering wheel really finishes off the look. This example has also had a professional rear seat belt conversion.
This Clubman is highly detailed throughout and is in the same condition underneath as it is on top. No stone was left unturned during this Minis painstaking restoration and 14 years later it has nicely settled and remains stunning. It offers a new owner the chance to own an awesome Mini that will make you smile each time you drive it or simply look at it.
The Mini is fully serviced, checked and driven. It has long MOT and is also MOT and Tax exempt.
