Description
A rather extraordinary 1966 KAD Mini Cooper for sale. You are unlikely to find another like this.
Leaving the Oxford factory on 5th May 1966 Austin Mini Cooper Mk1 998cc reg FAN 998D was sold to Mr Paul Anstey by Wimbledon Motors Limited.
As far as we know it spent its life as such , a 998cc in factory spec Island Blue with an Old English white roof and Cumulus grey interior with gold brocade until 2009 when a dear friend of mine bought it. Wanting something a bit quicker he took the car to Kent Auto Developments Limited in Romney Marsh renowned Mini specialist engineers.
- details above
My friend parted with an extraordinary sum (£25k from memory but records lost in a fire at KAD ) He had the fastest road spec professionally built :
Same personnel at KAD have provided a spec in recent overhaul and happy to confirm .

FAN 998D is extraordinary, scintillating to drive its original looks belie what lies beneath.
tested at 95bhp with perfect road manners it is simply too hard to put in words.... it is addictive. the fellows at KAD have done an amazing job.
I bought the car from him in 2011 and have garaged it since.
Having just returned to KAD for full service & other running repairs and a fresh MOT , FAN 998D is ready for its next owner.
please check images , this is not a concours car but presents very well with original looks and a very usable configuration.
Please come & see it in London SW9 or phone/ message with any questions.
Many Thanks.
