PRINCIPLE FACTS
A very rare opportunity to acquire an early R107 SL, registered in 1972 and wearing a 'K' registration. One of only a handful of surviving early cars, originally owned by the founder of the Kwik-Fit chain of garages.

CONDITION
The Mercedes-Benz R107 SL was built from 1971 to 1989, with a key facelift taking place in 1986. Decades of automotive column inches have been dedicated to the SL, many of which have concentrated on the benefits of purchasing a late car from the final three years of production. Where the late cars have slightly larger wheels and differences in the suspension and exterior, the early cars have been much maligned and therefore consigned to await the fate of history.
In the last decade, interest has grown in the earlier cars that predate the 1986 facelift - but years of being overlooked by buyers have resulted in slim pickings in the early R107 market.
Being a 1972 car, this particular SL is one of just a handful of early (1971 to 73) cars that we can recall in all our years dealing with this model.
It is currently offered for sale after being inherited by the current keeper, and is ripe for some improvement works. The exterior and interior both show signs of age, however the base is there for a very special car indeed with a little time and love.
A rare chance to acquire one of the earliest R107 SLs that we know of, with room for some improvement.
HISTORY
The history file contains a stamped service book and a selection of documents pertaining to a life of very little use. It's lovely to find these older R107s with the early history actually documented and present with the car - it is often missing.
